CREATING SPACE is a wonderful opportunity for Dance graduates, professional dance artists and choreographers to showcase 'works-in-progress' or to create something altogether new in an informal setting.
There is no money involved, but we will provide studio time (daytimes) to work/devise/rehearse your piece and an audience to show that work to. The performances take place in daylight - there are no lights. If required we can turn off lights to show film elements. Anywhere from 80-125 people attend and it is followed by a discussion with the audience.
You must be free for the day on Sunday, March 29, for the informal performance. There are generally 3-6 other artists presenting as well. It has proven to be a really wonderful way in which to show work to a very enthusiastic community, engaging both performer and audience members alike. The event is attended by dancers & dance representative festivals and organizations.
If you have work you wish to create or show (or re-visit) in our next 'Creating Space' showcase which will takes place Sunday, March 29th, 2020 at 3:30pm, please let us know. Drop us an email and provide us with some information about your piece and yourself (and/or the group of artists). The piece can be anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes, it can be new, or a staging of a work already created. Email: info@dancetheatreireland.com
